Fort Worth, Texas — Congressman Marc Veasey announced Thursday, March 12, that Fort Worth Housing Solutions have been awarded $3.1M in congressional funding to support the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood Initiative. This neighborhood revitalization is expanding housing stability, economic opportunity and long-term revitalization in the Stop Six community. This partnership marks another major step forward in creating lasting opportunity and generational stability for Stop Six residents.
This funding will support key infrastructure improvements, housing redevelopment and community center services that help access safe, high-quality housing.
“When we invest in housing, we invest in hope. This funding is about giving families in the Stop Six the stability they deserve and the opportunity to dream bigger for their children,” said Congressman Veasey. “I am proud to support Fort Worth Housing Solutions and the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood initiative as they create real pathways to stability and opportunity for families. Every family deserves access to safe, stable housing and the opportunity to thrive.”
Also in attendance were Councilwoman Deborah Peoples and Tarrant County Commissioner Rodrick Miles.
“We are deeply thankful for the ongoing support of Congressman Veasey,” Mary-Margaret Lemons, president of Fort Worth Housing Solutions, said. “This funding is just one of many ways he has supported the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood Initiative over the years. We are excited to put this funding to work for our community.”
