The Holston
Fort Worth Housing Solutions and its developer partner, AMCAL, have broken ground on the first phase of a 520-unit, “Class-A” apartment community adjacent to AllianceTexas.
Named for Barbara Holston, the housing authority’s president for 23 years, The Holston will be comprised of four, three-story, garden-style buildings set on a 12.32-acre site. The first apartment homes are expected to be ready for occupancy in January 2021 and the entire property completed by June. Fifty percent of units will be market-rate and 50 percent will be priced for households earning up to 80 percent Area Median Income (AMI).
Barbara Holston was a visionary leader who steered Fort Worth Housing Solutions when it began to acquire, rehabilitate and develop affordably priced housing more than two decades ago, so it is fitting that a property be named in her honor, said the agency’s president, Mary-Margaret Lemons.
“I’m pleased and excited that Fort Worth Housing Solutions continues to develop the partnerships that create this type of high-quality housing for the citizens of Fort Worth,” said Holston, adding that she feels “tremendously honored” to have a property named for her.
Stallion Ridge
Southeast Fort Worth will gain 204 new apartment units when Stallion Ridge completely opens. Its first units are expected to be available for rent in mid-2020. A gated community, it will be built by LDG Development, which also developed the nearby Stallion Pointe Apartments.
Eleven of the units will be market rate and 20 units will be set aside for the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program. Amenities will include an attractive clubhouse, both theater and exercise rooms, a computer lab, community pool, playground, and health and wellness classes.
Patriot Pointe
Also under construction is a 220-unit apartment community near the Fort Worth VA Clinic just off Campus Drive and I-20. Patriot Pointe is expected to open its first units in mid-2020. Eleven of the apartment homes will be market rate and 22 will be set aside for the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program.
The property’s proximity to major thoroughfares and a Trinity Metro bus stop make it very convenient for the workforce. Patriot Pointe will feature desirable amenities such as an exercise room, clubhouse, community pool and computer lab.
Fort Worth Housing Solutions is developing the property with LDG Development.
The Standard at River District
A luxurious, 293-unit apartment complex is under construction in the up-and-coming River District in Fort Worth’s Westside. The first units will be available for rent in mid-2020. Half of the units at Standard at River District will be affordably priced for households earning up to 80 percent of the area’s median income. The other half will be market rate. Nature lovers will appreciate access to miles of scenic trails along the Trinity River for hiking and biking. Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, pet play area, swimming pool and outdoor mezzanine. Fort Worth Housing Solutions is a part owner with Ojala Holdings.
