Households earning less than 80 percent of the Area Median Income may qualify for assistance, while the majority of rental assistance vouchers are reserved for extremely low-income households earning 30 percent or less of Area Median Income. View the 2022 HUD Income Limits chart at www.fwhs.org/hud-income-limits/.

FWHS has a limited number of emergency housing assistance vouchers for persons who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or fleeing domestic violence or human trafficking. We work closely with the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition and community partners such as DRC Solutions, Presbyterian Night Shelter, Union Gospel Mission and others to ensure that chronically homeless residents have access to rental assistance specially designed to help them return to self-sufficiency.

Applicants who meet one of the four criteria may click here to apply for emergency housing assistance through the Tarrant County Homeless Coalition.

FWHS has assigned Project-Based Vouchers to a variety of affordable multifamily communities across Fort Worth. Eligible individuals and families have a household income lower than 50 percent of the Area Median Income. Qualified residents pay 30 percent of their adjusted income toward an approved rent, and FWHS pays the difference.

Check the FWHS Project-Based Vouchers page to learn when individual properties open their wait lists and accept  applications. Residents also may wish to review our list of FWHS-owned, mixed-income communities that offer reduced rents to eligible applicants on our Properties page at www.fwhs.org/properties/. To apply, contact each desired property at the listed phone number or email address.
